Governance Debate - Purpose and Goal

Purpose and Goal

Where are we heading to with Blockzero Governance?
Which problems are we going to solve? What exactly do we want to achieve?

Possible goals are:

  • Have a permissionless system in place that allows for anyone to submit proposals to the community.
  • Utilize a structure supporting the creation of these proposals so that their approval becomes highly probable.

On-chain and off-chain governance

For a general discussion structure it makes sense to separate on-chain and off-chain decision making.

1. Distributed On-Chain Decision Making

What exactly do we need On-Chain-Decisions for?
This means that once a vote has been taken there is no need (nor possibility) for anyone to execute that decision. It will be put into action automatically.
Please name the most important topics/fields!

  • One goal could be to be putting the community into full control over all funds.
  • Another goal could be to be putting the community into full control over all smart contract related decisions, e.g. the changing of percentages like the FPY match within the Flash protocol or the question to which address funds will be send.

2. Distributed Off-Chain Decision Making

What exactly do we need it for?
There are many things not directly bound to happen on the blockchain. Even if a vote can be taken on these questions it will always require people to put the decision into action.
Please name the most important topics/fields!

  • Deciding who to partner with and how to set up partnerships.
  • Deciding which token to build and release next.
  • [add further fields for off-chain governance below]
